Our Story

How our Fairytale began...

We thought let's try the online approach to finding that "special person" and we ended up swiping "right" on each other's profile on Tinder. As most of you would know there are a lot of strange, and wonderful things about Tinder... 

We decided to go for a coffee to see if the other person was real, and worth the effort, as for those that have used Tinder you know what we mean. We both found the evening to be quite interesting, Keith with his very loud, crazy laugh, and Danielle with her sweet, but serious poker face. We established an immediate liking for each other, and from there the liking grew... It eventually got to a point where the words "I love you" were said, but not only just said but were said in French "Je t'aime". Things progressed, and we felt like we have been dating for years. 

We were dating for only 2 and a half years, and we went to Ecuador in South America to visit Keith's parents. It turned out that Keith had planned on proposing that side of the world. It was a magical day as we hiked down into Mindo's cloud forest. After the hike to the proposal spot, where Danielle said "YES" to marrying Keith (a fabulous story to follow). We came back to South Africa engaged, and very happy... AND NOW WE ARE GETTING MARRIED ON THE BEACH!!

He liked it, and put a ring on it...

After a long flight to Ecuador in South America. We finally got there and we took quite a bit of strain adjusting to the higher altitude.

On our first day, we went to visit a nearby local town to visit Museo de Sitio Intiñan where we got to do some cool experiments, and learnt about the Ecuadorian people and their culture.

On our second day, we went to Mindo's cloud forest for a hike. Danielle refused to change to comfortable shoes, as it "didn't go with her outfit". Half way through our hike we found a beautiful waterfall, Danielle had no idea that it was all part "of the plan".

Prior to this, on the plane, Keith told Danielle, that she must not expect anything as this is just a "family holiday", we were there just to visit his parents. Let's just say it was a very long and quiet flight as Danielle didn't take it very lightly. She managed to keep it together, and then eventually voiced her opinion the night before, not knowing Keith's plan as he did very well getting any ideas out of her head. Let's just say it wasn't a pleasant dispute... 

Back to the hike... with Danielle now completely ruling out any possible proposal, we carried on as usual. Keith's dad told us to go on the bridge for a photograph. As we got onto the bridge, Danielle saw Keith get down on one knee, but she was too scared to look down, in case it was a joke and Keith was just tying his shoelaces. Danielle wouldn't look down and kept saying "no no no". Keith on one knee.. waiting and very confused with Danielle's reaction. Eventually, Danielle looked down and saw the most amazing ring!!!!!! Danielle now realised that Keith had messed with her, and IT WAS REALLY HAPPENING!!!!!! Danielle before even saying yes, kept saying sorry for her over the top reaction she had the night before. THEN FINALLY SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a lot of crying, apologies and so much happiness in one afternoon. Keith got Danielle, and he got her good. 

This was the most amazing moment, and the excitement was so surreal. We still had to hike up to the cable cart to take us back to the start. Danielle, not thinking about the pain as a result of the shoes, ended up with blisters on her feet and couldn't wear closed shoes for several days after this. Despite this Danielle was beyond happy. 

Keith did it, he liked it and finally put a ring on it.
